NEW! Writing Process: Visual Diagram

This writing process was created in Inspiration with the assistance of WordQ+SpeakQ. The visual interpretation can be used within the classroom as a hand-out, click here, or downloaded to Inspiration, (please contact LFA@learningforall.ca).

By incorporating WordQ+SpeakQ with Inspiration, it provides the visual aspect of learning along with the assistance of writing and revising. Inspiration allows learners to visually brainstorm their ideas; customizing objects, pictures, symbols, text, backgrounds, links and more. Learners use WordQ’s Word Prediction and Speech Feedback when filling in the objects/symbols to assist with writing. As they continue through the writing process, SpeakQ’s Speech Recognition will help with difficult words or assist with long, detailed sentences. WordQ’s Read-Back can be used as an editing tool by highlighting sentences/paragraphs and having the text read back to them. It allows them to listen for mistakes like spelling, grammar, and punctuation and correct them along the way. The Diagram and Outline View, along with Notes can be transferred into a Word Processing program to assist with sentence structure and completing their final product. Use the Read-Back for one last revision before handing in or reading it aloud.

The original Inspiration Doc. includes the Diagram and Outline view with notes attached to most symbols. Certain objects are linked to Inspiration Files, which include further information, pre-made brainstorming templates, essay template, and more. Please feel free to download this document and use it with your learners.

Webspiration Classroom provides most to all of the features available with Inspiration, but can be accessed anytime and anywhere with an internet connection. You can also collaborate with others on the same document or invite others to revise your work. Documents can be submitted online to the teacher, which is timed and dated. Teachers can also return the document with comments to the students.
